Donna Christian and her husband were married in 1972. They have two adult children and four grandchildren. They are active members of the Bible Church of Brownsburg, where it is Donna’s joy to work in the music ministry and attend Bible studies.

Her mother taught her to sew at age eight. Through 4-H and sewing classes at school, she continued to learn during her formative years. In the 1970’s Donna enrolled in specialized sewing classes to improve her techniques. During that time she began working in the dress alteration workroom of a large department store in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also started doing more independent work on the side. After three years of fine-tuning her fitting skills in the department store, she went into business for herself full-time.

When Donna’s husband transferred to Fort Wayne, IN and later to Indianapolis, her business began to grow by word-of mouth. As she began to specialize in formal wear and specifically bridal gowns, she subcontracted alterations through local bridal stores. The business has grown these past 24 years with a customer base of over 400. She works on more than 200 bridal and formal gowns a year.

Designing and fitting bridal dresses is Donna’s passion. She especially enjoys the challenge of working with the bride to design a dress from a photo or sketch or just an idea. Many times she works with the bride to combine several pictures into one design. Working with a muslin draft allows exact fit and assurance of the design. The final conception is handmade and fitted to the customer.

Donna offers sources for fabrics, laces, shoes, purses, and all the other accessories.
